Parker On-Site at Nintendo of America Inc., located in Redmond, Washington, is hiring for a Japanese/English Associate Translator. This on-site, in-person contract role will support Nintendo’s Product Testing Department at their headquarters in Redmond.

What’s the scope of this bilingual role?

Working with the Product Testing Debug Translation Team, this person will assist an/or perform Japanese/English translation of emails and documents for Product Testing.

What are the core duties of this role?

We’re looking for the perfect candidate who has all of the attributes below:

• Translate debug-related e-mails, documents, and bugs for the testing team.

• Translate e-mails and documents for Test Engineering as requested.

If you meet the specifications below we want to hear from you:

• Associates degree or equivalent.

• Be available for work in Redmond, Washington.

• Minimum of 1-year translation experience or equivalent education

• Native level (oral and written) Japanese and English and the ability to use "keigo" (formal Japanese) appropriately.

• Understanding of Japanese and American business customs.

• Strong work ethic and ability to stay organized while multi-tasking.

• Ability to translate technical documents and emails from Japanese to English and/or English to Japanese.

• Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio, and FrontPage/Dreamweaver.

• Ability to interpret for simple and quick one-on-one phone conferences.

• Proven attention to detail.

• Passionate about the gaming industry (Experience in the gaming industry preferred).
