Pharmacy Technicians needed in Portland, Maine.
Immediate Hire 

Job ID: 23606
Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour
Location: Portland, Maine
Work Arrangement: On-Site Position
Employment Type: Contract to Hire (13 week assignment – Potential to convert to direct hire)
Available Shifts: Monday – Friday Shift 8- 4:30 pm

*Must have Maine Pharmacy Technician License 

The Pharmacy Technician will locate, dispense, pack, and label prescribed medications to be reviewed by a pharmacist. This role will also help pharmacists with administrative tasks such as processing insurance claims, tracking inventory, and filing paperwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing new prescription and refill requests for patients
  • Dispensing medication to patients per the prescription, or provider’s orders
  • Packing and labeling a prescribed medication
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Tracking inventory
  • Preparing compounded medications using sterile and non-sterile processes
  • Filling automated dispensing machines
  • Repackaging of bulk medications

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Perform duties assigned by the supervisor and/or licensed pharmacist.
  • Receive incoming medications from Purchasing Department.
  • Transfer medications from bottles to the appropriate number of bingo and blister cards.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of pre-packing equipment (e.g. changes brushes and clean equipment when packing different medication)
  • Label bingo and blister cards appropriately.
  • Transport pre-pack medication, checked by the pharmacists, to the pharmacy area.
  • Perform Pharmacy Technician duties when necessary and during a “slow” time.
